Laid off this week, where do I start? - 26 weeks in

They called a meeting on Monday and 8 of us were let go. I had been there 8 years. It has been weighing on me all week. I have a box of my things and a short letter about benefits. What did you do in the first week?

Give yourself the first couple of days to be upset. I did, and then I felt able to plan.

Keep everything in writing and save the confirmation numbers. It made the follow-up calls so much easier.
