Laid off this week, where do I start?

They called a meeting on Friday and 17 of us were let go. I had been there 17 years. This is my first time dealing with any of this. I have not told my family yet.

Thanks for writing this out. I went through something close to it 7 months ago, and it settled down once I kept a simple log of every call and form.

Give yourself the first couple of days to be upset. I did, and then I felt able to plan.
