Just got laid off, what should I do first? - what worked for you?

I lost my job as an operations analyst and I am not sure what to do first. I would rather hear the honest version than the polite one. I have not told my family yet. Which steps were urgent?

Thanks for writing this out. I went through something close to it last year, and it got easier once I kept a simple log of every call and form.
