Just got laid off, what should I do first? - what worked for you?

I lost my job as a payroll clerk and I am not sure what to do first. Any experience at all would help. I have a box of my things and a short letter about benefits. Is there a checklist I should follow?

I made a short list: benefits, bills, documents, and then my résumé. One thing each day kept me steady.
