Just got laid off, what should I do first? - what worked for you?

I was let go as an administrative assistant this week and I am still in shock. I have not told my family yet. Is there a checklist I should follow?

Give yourself the first couple of days to be upset. I did, and then I felt able to plan.

Ask for your final pay, unused leave and any documents in writing before you leave, if you still can.
