Just got laid off, what should I do first? - what worked for you?

They called a meeting on Friday and 7 of us were let go. I had been there 7 years. I have read a lot of threads here and could not find my exact situation. I have a few weeks of savings and a rent payment due.

File for unemployment right away. Do not wait for severance decisions. The date you file can matter.
