Just got laid off, what should I do first? (update)

I was let go as a forklift operator this week and I am still in shock. I have a few weeks of savings and a rent payment due.

I made a short list: benefits, bills, documents, and then my résumé. One thing each day kept me steady.

Ask for your final pay, unused leave and any documents in writing before you leave, if you still can.
