Just got laid off, what should I do first? (Richmond)

I lost my job as a security officer and I am not sure what to do first. I am in Richmond, in case local advice matters. I have not told my family yet. What did you do in the first week?

Keep everything in writing and save the confirmation numbers. It made the follow-up calls so much easier.

Give yourself the first couple of days to be upset. I did, and then I felt able to plan.
