Just got laid off, what should I do first?, medical assistant here

They called a meeting on Wednesday and 8 of us were let go. I had been there 8 years. There are 8 people counting on me, so I am trying to be careful. I have a few weeks of savings and a rent payment due. What did you do in the first week?

Thanks for writing this out. I went through something close to it 2 months ago, and it settled down once I kept a simple log of every call and form.
