Just got laid off, what should I do first?, medical assistant here

I was let go as a medical assistant this week and I am still in shock. I have not told my family yet. What did you do in the first week?

Ask for your final pay, unused leave and any documents in writing before you leave, if you still can.

Give yourself the first couple of days to be upset. I did, and then I felt able to plan.
