Just got laid off, what should I do first?, medical assistant here

I lost my job as a medical assistant and I am not sure what to do first. I do not usually post, so bear with me. I have a few weeks of savings and a rent payment due. Is there a checklist I should follow?

File for unemployment right away. Do not wait for severance decisions. The date you file can matter.
