Just got laid off, what should I do first? - first time posting

They called a meeting on Wednesday and 13 of us were let go. I had been there 13 years. It has been a long 4 weeks. I have not told my family yet.

File for unemployment right away. Do not wait for severance decisions. The date you file can matter.
