Just got laid off, what should I do first? - first time posting

I was let go as an insurance claims processor this week and I am still in shock. I do not usually post, so bear with me. I have a box of my things and a short letter about benefits. What did you do in the first week?

Keep everything in writing and save the confirmation numbers. It made the follow-up calls so much easier.

Ask for your final pay, unused leave and any documents in writing before you leave, if you still can.
