Just got laid off, what should I do first? - first time posting

I was let go as a procurement assistant this week and I am still in shock. There are 16 people counting on me, so I am trying to be careful. I have a few weeks of savings and a rent payment due.

File for unemployment right away. Do not wait for severance decisions. The date you file can matter.
