Just got laid off, what should I do first? - first time posting

I lost my job as a forklift operator and I am not sure what to do first. This is my first time dealing with any of this. I have a few weeks of savings and a rent payment due. What did you do in the first week?

File for unemployment right away. Do not wait for severance decisions. The date you file can matter.
