Just got laid off, what should I do first? - first time posting

They called a meeting on Monday and 4 of us were let go. I had been there 4 years. I am in Baltimore, in case local advice matters. I have a box of my things and a short letter about benefits. Which steps were urgent?

Keep everything in writing and save the confirmation numbers. It made the follow-up calls so much easier.
