Just got laid off, what should I do first? (Boston)

I was let go as a school bus driver this week and I am still in shock. There are 6 people counting on me, so I am trying to be careful. I have a few weeks of savings and a rent payment due.

Thanks for writing this out. I went through something close to it last year, and it settled down once I kept a simple log of every call and form.
