Just got laid off, what should I do first? - any advice?

I was let go as a nurse's aide this week and I am still in shock. I have been trying to stay organised about it. I have a few weeks of savings and a rent payment due. Which steps were urgent?

Give yourself the first couple of days to be upset. I did, and then I felt able to plan.

Keep everything in writing and save the confirmation numbers. It made the follow-up calls so much easier.
