Just got laid off, what should I do first? - any advice?

I was let go as a school bus driver this week and I am still in shock. I do not usually post, so bear with me. I have a box of my things and a short letter about benefits. What did you do in the first week?

Ask for your final pay, unused leave and any documents in writing before you leave, if you still can.

I made a short list: benefits, bills, documents, and then my résumé. One thing each day kept me steady.
