Just got laid off, what should I do first? - any advice?

They called a meeting on Tuesday and 14 of us were let go. I had been there 14 years. I have read a lot of threads here and could not find my exact situation. I have a box of my things and a short letter about benefits.

File for unemployment right away. Do not wait for severance decisions. The date you file can matter.
