Just got laid off, what should I do first? - any advice?

They called a meeting on Monday and 5 of us were let go. I had been there 5 years. I would rather hear the honest version than the polite one. I have a box of my things and a short letter about benefits. Which steps were urgent?

Keep everything in writing and save the confirmation numbers. It made the follow-up calls so much easier.
