Just got laid off, what should I do first? - any advice?

I was let go as a bank teller this week and I am still in shock. There are 17 people counting on me, so I am trying to be careful. I have not told my family yet. What did you do in the first week?

Thanks for writing this out. I went through something close to it 9 months ago, and it got easier once I kept a simple log of every call and form.

Give yourself the first couple of days to be upset. I did, and then I felt able to plan.
