Just got laid off, what should I do first? after 7 years as a security officer

They called a meeting on Wednesday and 7 of us were let go. I had been there 7 years. I have a box of my things and a short letter about benefits.

Ask for your final pay, unused leave and any documents in writing before you leave, if you still can.

Keep everything in writing and save the confirmation numbers. It made the follow-up calls so much easier.
