Just got laid off, what should I do first? after 7 years as a data-entry clerk

I lost my job as a data-entry clerk and I am not sure what to do first. I am in Birmingham, in case local advice matters. I have a few weeks of savings and a rent payment due. Which steps were urgent?

Keep everything in writing and save the confirmation numbers. It saved me later.
