Just got laid off, what should I do first? after 4 years as a copywriter

They called a meeting on Friday and 4 of us were let go. I had been there 4 years. I am in Buffalo, in case local advice matters. I have a box of my things and a short letter about benefits. Is there a checklist I should follow?

Ask for your final pay, unused leave and any documents in writing before you leave, if you still can.

Give yourself the first couple of days to be upset. I did, and then I felt able to plan.
