Just got laid off, what should I do first? after 18 years as a software tester

I was let go as a software tester this week and I am still in shock. I would rather hear the honest version than the polite one. I have not told my family yet.

Thanks for writing this out. I went through something close to it last year, and it settled down once I kept a simple log of every call and form.
