Just got laid off, what should I do first? after 15 years as a copywriter

I lost my job as a copywriter and I am not sure what to do first. There are 15 people counting on me, so I am trying to be careful. I have not told my family yet.

File for unemployment right away. Do not wait for severance decisions. The date you file can matter.
