Just got laid off, what should I do first? after 13 years as a data-entry clerk

I was let go as a data-entry clerk this week and I am still in shock. I have a few weeks of savings and a rent payment due.

Keep everything in writing and save the confirmation numbers. It made the follow-up calls so much easier.

Give yourself the first couple of days to be upset. I did, and then I felt able to plan.
