Just got laid off, what should I do first? after 12 years as a data-entry clerk

I lost my job as a data-entry clerk and I am not sure what to do first. Thank you in advance. I have a few weeks of savings and a rent payment due. Is there a checklist I should follow?

File for unemployment right away. Do not wait for severance decisions. The date you file can matter.
