Just got laid off, what should I do first? after 10 years as a recruiter

I was let go as a recruiter this week and I am still in shock. I have a box of my things and a short letter about benefits. Is there a checklist I should follow?

Ask for your final pay, unused leave and any documents in writing before you leave, if you still can.

File for unemployment right away. Do not wait for severance decisions. The date you file can matter.
