Just got laid off, what should I do first? after 10 years as a project coordinator

I was let go as a project coordinator this week and I am still in shock. I am in Milwaukee, in case local advice matters. I have a box of my things and a short letter about benefits. Is there a checklist I should follow?

File for unemployment right away. Do not wait for severance decisions. The date you file can matter.

Give yourself the first couple of days to be upset. I did, and then I felt able to plan.
