I was let go as a janitorial supervisor this week and I am still in shock. I have a few weeks of savings and a rent payment due.

Ask for your final pay, unused leave and any documents in writing before you leave, if you still can.

File for unemployment right away. Do not wait for severance decisions. The date you file can matter.
