Just got laid off, what should I do first? - 8 months and counting

I lost my job as a marketing coordinator and I am not sure what to do first. I have a box of my things and a short letter about benefits. What did you do in the first week?

Thanks for writing this out. I went through something close to it 8 months ago, and it settled down once I kept a simple log of every call and form.

Give yourself the first couple of days to be upset. I did, and then I felt able to plan.
