Just got laid off, what should I do first?

They called a meeting on Wednesday and 10 of us were let go. I had been there 10 years. Thank you in advance. I have a box of my things and a short letter about benefits. What did you do in the first week?

Ask for your final pay, unused leave and any documents in writing before you leave, if you still can.

Give yourself the first couple of days to be upset. I did, and then I felt able to plan.
