Just got laid off, what should I do first? - 6 months and counting

I was let go as a bookkeeper this week and I am still in shock. I would rather hear the honest version than the polite one. I have a few weeks of savings and a rent payment due. Which steps were urgent?

Keep everything in writing and save the confirmation numbers. It made the follow-up calls so much easier.
