Just got laid off, what should I do first? - 6 months and counting

They called a meeting on Thursday and 8 of us were let go. I had been there 8 years. It has been a long 7 weeks. I have a box of my things and a short letter about benefits.

Keep everything in writing and save the confirmation numbers. It saved me later.

Thanks for writing this out. I went through something close to it 6 months ago, and it got easier once I kept a simple log of every call and form.
