They called a meeting on Monday and 10 of us were let go. I had been there 10 years. I worked as an HR coordinator before this. I have a few weeks of savings and a rent payment due. Which steps were urgent?

File for unemployment right away. Do not wait for severance decisions. The date you file can matter.
