Just got laid off, what should I do first? - 22 weeks in

I was let go as a welding apprentice this week and I am still in shock. There are 13 people counting on me, so I am trying to be careful. I have a few weeks of savings and a rent payment due. What did you do in the first week?

Thanks for writing this out. I went through something close to it 4 months ago, and it settled down once I kept a simple log of every call and form.
