Just got laid off, what should I do first? - 2 weeks in

They called a meeting on Thursday and 5 of us were let go. I had been there 5 years. I would rather hear the honest version than the polite one. I have a few weeks of savings and a rent payment due. Which steps were urgent?

Give yourself the first couple of days to be upset. I did, and then I felt able to plan.

Keep everything in writing and save the confirmation numbers. It made the follow-up calls so much easier.
