Just got laid off, what should I do first?

I was let go as a paralegal this week and I am still in shock. This is my first time dealing with any of this. I have a few weeks of savings and a rent payment due. Is there a checklist I should follow?

File for unemployment right away. Do not wait for severance decisions. The date you file can matter.
