Just got laid off, what should I do first? - 13 months and counting

They called a meeting on Tuesday and 4 of us were let go. I had been there 4 years. I have been trying to stay organised about it. I have a box of my things and a short letter about benefits. Is there a checklist I should follow?

File for unemployment right away. Do not wait for severance decisions. The date you file can matter.
