Just got laid off, what should I do first?

They called a meeting on Tuesday and 16 of us were let go. I had been there 16 years. I have been trying to stay organised about it. I have a box of my things and a short letter about benefits. Is there a checklist I should follow?

Keep everything in writing and save the confirmation numbers. It saved me later.

Give yourself the first couple of days to be upset. I did, and then I felt able to plan.
