Just got laid off, what should I do first?

They called a meeting on Friday and 18 of us were let go. I had been there 18 years. It has been weighing on me all week. I have not told my family yet. Which steps were urgent?

Give yourself the first couple of days to be upset. I did, and then I felt able to plan.

Keep everything in writing and save the confirmation numbers. It made the follow-up calls so much easier.
