Just got laid off, what should I do first? - 10 months and counting

They called a meeting on Tuesday and 7 of us were let go. I had been there 7 years. I have a few weeks of savings and a rent payment due. What did you do in the first week?

Keep everything in writing and save the confirmation numbers. It made the follow-up calls so much easier.
