Industry layoffs, what are people doing? - what worked for you?

Many of the people I know in my field were laid off this year, including me as a teaching assistant. I have been trying to stay organised about it. I am open to a pay cut if the field is stable. How did you choose?

Look at job postings to see which skills repeat, then fill the gap. That gave me a direction.

Keep everything in writing and save the confirmation numbers. It saved me later.
