Industry layoffs, what are people doing? - what worked for you?

Our sector has been shrinking and I am unsure if I should wait it out. There are 3 people counting on me, so I am trying to be careful. I have transferable skills but no direct experience elsewhere. Who has switched fields?

A short certificate helped me more than a new degree would have. Check what local colleges offer.

Keep everything in writing and save the confirmation numbers. It saved me later.
