Industry layoffs, what are people doing? (update)

Many of the people I know in my field were laid off this year, including me as an operations analyst. There are 4 people counting on me, so I am trying to be careful. I have transferable skills but no direct experience elsewhere.

A short certificate helped me more than a new degree would have. Check what local colleges offer.
