Industry layoffs, what are people doing? (San Diego)

Our sector has been shrinking and I am unsure if I should wait it out. It has been weighing on me all week. I am open to a pay cut if the field is stable. How did you choose?

I moved into operations work. The skills carried over and there were more openings than in my old field.
