Industry layoffs, what are people doing? - first time posting

Three companies in Austin cut staff in the same month. There are 6 people counting on me, so I am trying to be careful. I am open to a pay cut if the field is stable. Who has switched fields?

Look at job postings to see which skills repeat, then fill the gap. That gave me a direction.
