Industry layoffs, what are people doing?

Many of the people I know in my field were laid off this year, including me as a retail manager. I have read a lot of threads here and could not find my exact situation. The postings I see are fewer and ask for more. Who has switched fields?

Look at job postings to see which skills repeat, then fill the gap. That gave me a direction.

A short certificate helped me more than a new degree would have. Check what local colleges offer.
